About the College

Avinasi Gounder Mariammal College of Education is a pioneer Teacher Education institution having to its credit a remarkable contribution to empowerment and upliftment of student-Teachers (B.Ed & M.Ed) moulding them into academically and professionally competent, self-sufficient and self confident individuals to emerge outstanding in their respective field. The College is established in the year 2005 with an aim to achieve high ideals for future teachers. It is one among the Colleges of teacher education started under self-financing scheme during 2005.

UG Course: B.Ed Degree – B.Ed degree course has been introduced in the academic year 2005-2006. It has been granted NOC by the Government of Tamilnadu Vide G.O(M.S) No 413 dt 03.11.2005. Recognition has been granted with an annual intake of 100 students (Co-Education) by the NCTE – Vide No. FTN / Sec / SRO / NCTE / 2005–2006 / 3465 dt 15.10.2005. It has been affiliated to the TamilNadu Teacher Education University, Chennai.

PG Course: M.Ed Degree – M.Ed degree has been introduced in the year 2008-2009. Recognition has been granted with an annual intake of 35 students for M.Ed. course by NCTE- Vide No.F.SRO/NCTE/2010-2011/20883 dt 01.09.2010 and NCTE/SRC/ has been granted with an annual intake of 50 students from the academic year 2015-2016 as per F.SRO/NCTE/APS07713/M.Ed/TN/2015/65354 dt 22.05.2015. It has been affiliated to the TamilNadu Teachers Education University, Chennai.

Mission : The mission is to create flawless pedagogical community by imparting sound education, educational teaching practice, and to produce quality teachers, as teachers form the backbone of the society
