About the School

Doon Public School, NandanPahar, Deoghar, is an English medium school run under Santhal Educational and Cultural Trust. It was established in 1992. The founder Mr S. P. Singh laid its foundation. He had his attraction towards education and social upliftment by the way of education. The two important loss in his life further strengthend his desire. The one was the loss of his right hand in an accident while in service in Rajasthan and the other being an unfortunate death of his father.

Finally in the memory of his father Sri Bhagwati Prasad singh and to run away from a life of sympathy he left his job and decided to launch this school in the holy town of Deoghar. The main aim of this endeavour has been making quality education reachable to the poor and downtrodden. Our Patron Late.Sri.Bameshwar Prasad Narayan Sinha, who was then the HOD English in Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradoon, served as the President of the Santhal Educational and Cultural Trust. His active support right from the time of school’s establishment has played the most significant role in shaping the purpose and administration of the school. After his retirement he gave his valuable time to the school in introducing new pedagogical approach and teaching techniques. The school was truly administered in his presidentship for five years which helped create a unique teaching methodology. He was an author. His one of the most important work being “Valour and Wisdom”. He blessed us until his last breath.
