About the School

Holy Cross School, Hazaribag is a Christian Minority School run by the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross, familiarly known as Holy Cross Sisters. It was established on the occasion of 150 years Jubilee of the Congregation on 18th April 2006. The congregation was found in Switzerland, in the year 1856 by two eminent personalities, Rev. Fr. Theodosius Florentini, OFM Cap, and Blessed. Mother Theresa Scherer. It is an international congregation and the members of this congregation work in Europe, North & South America, Africa and Asia. Since 1894 the sisters started serving the people of India. They render their services in various fields like formal and Non formal education, Teacher’s Training Nurses Training and Vocational Training Centres, Hospitals, Orphanages, Old Age Houses, Centre and so on. In all these, priority is given to the less marginalized of the society.

Based on the Education Policy and Guidelines for Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross , India – 2014 and Vision Mission of Educational Apostolate we HCM Education Ministry Core Committee members have prepared a student & Teacher profile, so as to specify Holy Cross Culture in all our Schools. We wish that Boys and girls leaving from our school must be characterized by these values.
