About the College

In 2000, Mahatma Jyotiba Fule Mahavidyalaya, affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati, a co-educational college for the very ordinary and underprivileged sections of society was established. Till 2014 the college had functioned in the parental building catering to the diverse needs of students and community. In 2014 January, it shifted to the serene, academic ambiance of the new campus at Parvati Nagar. Mahatma Jyotiba Fule Mahavidyalaya, Amravati is an institution established in the name of the great educationist and Social reformer Jyotirao Fule who had dedicated his entire life and that of his wife Savitribai Fule for the eradication of the evils in society and also to educate and empower the women of India and especially of Maharashtra. They had to suffer so much in this effort but they went on effecting change in the fabric of society and the mentality of people undaunted and tireless. As this institution follows the footsteps put forth by this divine couple, it is always ahead in dealing with such issues and it strives to integrate the crosscutting issues related to Gender, Environment and Sustainability, Human values and Professional Ethics into its curriculum. With the desire to create socially useful citizens sensitive to the problems faced by people, a wide range of subjects are offered in the course of study. Students have the choice to select from subjects like Music, Psychology, Geography, Sociology, Political Science, Environmental Science, Languages and Literature of Marathi, English, Hindi and Sanskrit. The college also have B.C.A. for computer science-oriented students. Along with this college offers PG course in Music, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, M. Com, M.Sc. in Computer Science, One Year P.G. Diploma courses in Performing Folk Art, Financial Literacy and Cyber Security. While studying these subjects and the different lessons available there, they imbibe the various values and behavior pattern to live well in society and also are made aware of the different roles they have to play efficiently for the benefit of all.
