About the School

Paranchak Sikshaniketan is one of the oldest educational institutions with high tradition in Haldia industrial zone. A number of kind hearted local zeminders with visionary zeal and utmost enthusiasm established this educational institution on the 11th May, 1907 for the spread of education in this so called backward rural area during the British rule. The undaunted Freedom Fighter Lali Kumar Chandra Jana was a student as well as a teacher of this institution. The school was upgraded as a Secondary School w.e. from 01/01/1952. The H.S. section with 3 general stream courses – Arts, Science, Commerce was re-introduced w.e. from 24.10.1997. The centenary celebration of the institution was observed with solemnity and grandeur from 08/05/2007 – 11/05/2007. In respect of academic result a number of students were among the toppers in the Secondary Examination of our state. A large number of students hold prestigious posts in different colleges and universities including medical and engineering colleges in our country and abroad. It’s a great shock to all of us that we have to leave this centenary old heritage building very shortly. But is also a great pleasure that for the development of industrial expansion, we have to vacate this site. No industry, no progress – is the global slogan and we should not lag behind it.
We have to face great financial hardships to complete the construction work of our new school building at Mouza Purba Srikrishnapur. All the ex-students, guardians, well wishers and people from all walks of life irrespective of social status are earnestly requested to come forward with financial assistance to remove our financial hardships.
