About the School

The origin of Mayo College, one of the oldest public Schools in the country, dates back to 1869. Mayo was designed to make British gentlemen out of Indian princes. Years after its first student, Maharaja Mangal Singh of Alwar, rode into the campus on an elephant, Mayo still retains the ‘quality of education’ it has always been admired for.

Founded by Richard Southwell Bourke, the Earl of Mayo, who was the Viceroy of India from 1868 to 1872, the School strives for excellence in academic subjects and in all other spheres of life.

The College motto “Let there be Light” allows more than just light into a student’s life and personality. It is a guiding principle that holds every graduate in its thrall and always encourages them to do better than the best.

The collaboration with Mayo College General Council, Ajmer has provided a strong foundation and an unrivalled back to Mayor World School. Mayor World School is committed to adopting the best practices of Mayo College.

Students of Mayor World School also get the opportunity to travel to Ajmer and participate in joint activities with their counterparts at Mayo.

Mayor World School was established in 2005 with the objective of bringing excellence into education. The dream which visualised education as the acquiring of knowledge for knowledge sake had taken concrete form.

With a unique infrastructure that boasted of the latest in technology to suit the environment of a School and facilitate learning, every aspect of the child’s life was taken into consideration. The School has well equipped laboratories as well as a Wi Fi campus.

Today Mayor World School stands on the threshold of achievement and success as an educational institution which has inspired learning. The holistic approach to education has been developed to suit the learning needs of individual student. Inspiring Excellence as our motto is now a guiding factor in everything we pursue.
