About the College

S.D. (P.G.) College, Panipat, a premier centre of higher learning, giving education up to the PG level with emphasis on all-round development of students, stands in the heart of the city at the G.T. Road. Its foundation stone was laid in 1968 by Ch. Bansi Lal, the then Chief Minister of Haryana, in the presence of Swami Gitanandji, the exponent of the holy Gita and the most authentic prophetic voice of Panipat.

The college is governed by S.D. Education Society (Regd.) Panipat, which also runs six more educational institutions in the town, all having pre-eminent position in their respective spheres.
This college has carved out a niche on the educational map of Haryana because of its several strong points. We impart education on holistic pattern with a view to cater to the present day needs of students by preparing them for global challenges. A number of our former students are working abroad in various positions in all corners of the globe. The college has been consistently introducing need based new courses. Keeping in view that a large number of students from Panipat go to Delhi for Honours courses, the college was the first college to start B.Com. (Honours) in Kurukshetra University a few years back. The college has also obtained NOC from the State Govt. to start Honours courses in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics besides many other courses mentioned earlier. The college is also the first in Kurukshetra University to start M.Sc. (Physics) course and also one of few colleges offering M.Sc. (Chemistry).
