About the School

The Acharya was born in the year 1896 A.D. From the very childhood the boy would almost always remain immersed in meditation and self contemplation. As the grew older he began to meditate profoundly on the transitoriness of world, on the frailities and futilities of mundane existence. In his boyhood, initiated himself from Yogiraj Gambhirnathji he passed his time always in deep meditation in the jungle adjacent to Gorakhpur Math, Akash Ganga at Gaya and Ashighat at Varanasi. There he passed his time merged in intense meditation. Later in the year 1916, on Holy day of Poush Purnima, he started deep self mortification and just after one month in the Holy Day of magha Purnima he obtained salvation (Siddhi) and hence the Bharat Sevashram Sangha was established on the basis of ‘Atmana Mokshartham Jagat Hitaya Cha’ philosophy. The great Acharya declared that thus time is an age of Universal Emancipation. Within a short period the great Acharya started his humanitarian activities through different branches of the Sangha all over the country. Whenever there be any calamities such a flood, famine, cyclone, earthquake or any major epidemic such as cholera, plague etc. Sangha came forward for the rescue. Sangha started to serve the pilgrims at the distant pilgrim centre based on the Tirtha Sanskar movement by the great Acharya. Lakhs of piligrims are benefited at the time of big fair such as Kumbha, Soalr, Eclipse, Godavari Pushkaram etc.

SWAMI BUDHANANDA JI MAHARAJ (FOUNDER OF SCHOOL)
Swami Buddhananda, former General Secretary, Bharat Sevashram Sangha, expired on 26th January at 3:45 p.m.. He was 92. Swamiji came in contact with Swami Pranavananda Maharaj, the great founder of Bharat Sevashram Sangha in 1940 and renounced his life. He took Sannyas in 1952. He stayed in Gujarat, Jamshedpur, Ranchi and travelled all over India and abroad to preach the message of Swami Pranavananda. He started a movement of Leprosy eradication in the East Singhbhum tribal belt and ran 4 Leprosy Hospitals and 92 Clinics in this belt and made a successful rehabilitation of the Lepers. He also made a hectic effort for the upliftment of backward class and Tribal welfare in several districts of Jharkhand by running large number of Tribal Students Homes, Charitable Dispensaries, Mobile Medical Units, Hospitals, Schools Employment generation projects etc. His efforts for the poor and downtrodden was of exceptional quality.

The Prophet of the age Yugacharya Srimat Swami 10. Pranavananda ji Maharaj, the founder of Bharat Sevashram Sangha, set an objective to spread man-making education along with host of other social and spiritual services to the nation. B.S.S. Parnavananda Academy at Raipur run By The Bharat Sevashram Sangha was established with the objective set by Swami Pranavananda ji Maharaj and so has been engaged in imparting value based man making education. We strongly believe that if education does not inculcate values with a view to build character it is no education at all. We sincerely try to render education by making an excellence blend of modern methodology with Indian Cultural heritage. We strongly belive that each child is an individual with a dream and so this school certainly helps the child to realize his/her dream, thereby affirming the ultimate goodness of man. B.S.S. Parnavananda Academy has been trying to release unlocked potential in every child in scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas. I take the opportunity to express my sincere thanks to the parents and guardians who have reposed trust on us and supported our philosophy on education. Pranavananda Academy, run by Bharat Sevashram Sangha, with its diversified academic activities in various parts of the country, has come into existence in Raipur, commemorating the Centenary Celebrations of Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj. At present, the school stands on a 5-acre plot of land donated by Shishu Shiksha Samiti by virtue of the relentless efforts of a devotee of “Bharat Sevashram Sangha,” located on VIP Road leading to Mana Airport. The construction of the school started in April 1996, covering an area of 82,200 sq. ft. to accommodate students from pre-primary to class XII.

The aim of the academy is to grow in the field of college education in all branches and disciplines and earn a reputation as a Universal Pedestal of Learning. The Bharat Sevashram Sangha, a philanthropic, charitable, socio-religious organization founded over 80 years ago by Acharya Shrimat Swami Parnavanandaji Maharaj, is dedicated to the well-being of mankind. The Sangha has a wide missionary network and education projects, with more than 60 branches and 600 Unity Centers across India and abroad, including the UK, USA, Canada, South America, Guyana, Trinidad, the Far-East, and Bangladesh.
