About the School

Christ The King Convent Sr. Sec. School, Kapurthala was established in 1977 by the Diocese of Jalandhar under the patronage and guidance of Rt. Rev. Dr. Symphorian Keeprath, the then Bishop of Jalandhar and through the sustained effort and hard work of its first director, Rev. Fr.Hormise Nirmal Raj. The patron of the school is Rt. Rev. Dr. Franco Mulakkal , the present Bishop of the Diocese of Jalandhar and the President of Diocese of Jalandhar, Registered Charitable Society. The Diocese of Jalandhar is a Christian Association Registered under the Society Registration Act XXI of 1860 vide no.134 of 1957 – 1958. Enjoying all the rights and privileges granted to the minorities enshrined in Articles 29 and 30 of the Indian Constitution.

Although it is run by a minority community, admission to this school is opened to the boys and girls of all the communities, of all religions, caste and creed and every student is encouraged to admire, and practice his/her religion. Although the school has its heavenly patron JESUS CHRIST, THE KING OF the UNIVERSE, the God whom the Christians worship, the School motto and emblem LEARN/- LOVE-LIGHT with a crown of Glory in the middle of a triangle, which represents vertical and horizontal relationship of man with God and man, with the title of “satchitananda” the universal name of ONE GOD in the form of “SAT CHIT ANANDA” is meant to inspire everyone to build up universal brotherhood and to enjoy life filled with eternal values of TRUTH, WISDOM & ETERNAL BLISS.

The Diocese of Jalandhar registered society with its objective of rendering humanitarian services has numerous developmental projects like running hospitals, orphanages, centers for mentally challenged and aged, educational institutions both in cities and villages etc. throughout Punjab and H. P. For the general administration and smooth functioning of these institutions, a Diocesan Board of Education has been constituted with its headquarters in Jalandhar city. All the educational, managerial and administration policies are made by this board in consultation with the Directors and Principals of its various member institutions.
The aim of the school is to impart quality education designed for the all round development of the child. The students are prepared for their future duties by a careful cultivation of their minds and hearts. Children are enlightened intellectually, morally, socially, professionally and spiritually. Although it is a Christian Minority school, every student is encouraged to practice his/her religion. Special emphasis is given for the practice of natural virtues like truthfulness, honesty, politeness, simplicity, self discipline and orderliness.

The medium of instruction is English and the method of study is in accordance with the scheme laid down by the council for the Primary, Secondary and the Higher secondary stages approved by the council. Special importance is given to English, including spoken English, for which a high standard is maintained. Hindi as the national language and Punjabi as the regional language are taught from per-primary level with priority.
