About the School

Assembling the noble trends in the field of education and integrating those lofty ideals which are part of India’s rich cultural heritage Puthiyakavu Central School opened it’s gate to students in the academic year 2003-2004 with blessings of Puthiyakavu Bhagavathi and a group of devotees.

Initially admissions were opened to three classes, namely LKG, UKG and Std.1. A humble beginning paved the way of this exacted institution to grow into a CBSE School upto Std:VIII. Our ultimate aim is to upgrade the school to a Higher Secondary School. It is with the superb aim of enabling the under privileged children too to access to CBSE School, that the management of Puthiyakavu Temple established this unique pedagogic centre here.

This school is affiliated to Bharatheeya Vidhya Nikethan, the Kerala Unit of Vidhya Bharathi. We are following a system of education which give equal emphasis to the pursuit of all-round knowledge involving all modern fields of education. With this ideal we provide a mode of learning which is joyful and enriching experience to students without burdening them. To develop the total personality of each child we follow Panchanga Sikshan i.e, Physical, Yoga, Music, Sanskrit and Moral and spiritual education. The teachers are hand picked on the basis of the high education qualification, teaching skill and communicative skill in English. It is mandatory that all teachers should have attend the cultural educational course conducted by BVN. In order to maintain the highest standards in education and to constantly update the fields of learning, we have formed a panel of consultants who will meet the teachers and evaluate their performance and ensure that the school meets its lofty goals. Arrangements are made for parents to meet the relevant teachers and discuss any related issues once a week. More over open houses are conducting after each term.

The medium of teaching is English. We give due importance to Malayalam as Mother tongue, Sanskrit as the Vedic language and Hindi as the National language. Lot of emphasis given to learn languages with correct pronunciation. Communicative skill in English is also prioritised.
