About The President
Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade is a multi-dimensional personality — recognised as an educationalist, philosopher, philanthropist, and the ‘Dharmaadhikari’ and ‘Pattadhikaari’ of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala. Over several years of tirelessly serving the society, he has evolved into a social reformer. He was awarded the second-highest civilian award of India, Padma Vibhushan in 2015. What truly defines his contribution, is his determined and consistent service to the nation — and his passion to show us that every individual has an innate potential to change the world.

As the president of the SDME Society, Dr. Heggade is the guiding spirit and driving force behind all its institutions. He is known for converting small towns into modern educational hubs and revered for his willful contribution towards education, empowerment and social betterment. His path-breaking contribution to the social, economical and cultural development of society is a testimonial to his service-oriented nature.
