About the College

Apollo College is a reputed Teacher Education Institution situated at village Anjora, Durg District of Chhattisgarh state. It is started with getting recognition of NCTE, New Delhi for running B.Ed. course in the year 2005 under the capable leadership of Members of Shristi Edcation and welfare society. The journey begins with the dreams and visions of Chairman Dr. B.S.Bhatia, directors Mr. Sanjay Agarwal, Mr. Ashish Agarwal, Dr. Manish Jain and few other members. Consistent progress of Apollo College is evident as getting recognition of M.Ed. in 2008, recognition of D.El.Ed. course in 2017 from NCTE, New Delhi. Recognition of 2(f) from UGC , New Delhi in 2017, permanent affiliation for B.Ed. and M.Ed. from Hemchandra Yadav University Durg in 2017, and status of Research Centre in 2021 in Education from Hemchandra Yadav University. Apollo College has gone through the accreditation process of NAAC and earned ‘B’ grade with 2.15 CGPA in first cycle in 2014. Now we are on the way of second cycle of assessment.

Apollo college is running in a huge and beautiful Infrastructure surrounded by lush green campus with beautiful flora and fauna, big play ground for outdoor games and other activities. Well equipped laboratories/resource centers, resourceful general library having DELNET facility, Class rooms, as per NCTE norms are functional in our college. Updated facilities for research scholars are present at library and at Research Center.

At Apollo college we have Competent and well qualified faculty members fulfilling UGC and NCTE norms and standards. There are 41 qualified and competent teaching staff fulfilling the NCTE guidelines. Out of these 25 are selected through Hemchand Yadav University under statue 28 and 15 are selected through SCERT Raipur.Seven staff of M.Ed. are Ph.D. qualified staff. Principal Dr Siddharth Jain and IQAC coordinator Dr. Rakhi Sharma are member of Board of Studies, Education at university. Any shortage of faculty is fulfilled by management with immediate effect. Sensing the need of academic innovation and research responsibility an ISSN numbered national research journal “AJER’ (ISSN 2321-9920 & RNI CHHBIL/2017/72489) is published since 2014 and College magazine ‘Anudeepti’ (RNI CHHMUL/2018/75983) is published since 2012 from Apollo College. Apollo College was declared as recognized Research Center in Education of Hemchand Yadav University, Durg in 2021. Apollo College play an active role to fulfill its social responsibility and community concern by developing 10 active MOUs with other reputed institutions. Collaborative out-reach activities, extension activities & Guest lectures are organized. Free teaching and guidance to poor and needy children through Alumni members is a planned ‘Best practice’ of Apollo college. NSS unit of the college plays an active role by organizing various outreach activities. IQAC committee takes many initiatives to create a vibrant environment in the college.

Apollo college’s management has created an environment of autonomy faculty and staff for routine activities and to take initiative for innovative ideas. We have some futuristic plans to fulfill the dreams and enhance quality of institution, such as to organize national and international conference & seminar, developing teaching-learning community, setting more MOUs specially with industries and NGOs, organizing more value added courses, Organizing skill oriented capacity building workshop and various outreach activities.

Process is being initiated to open study center of PSSOU (open university) for various ODL courses, starting UG and ITEP courses. To Obtain 12b status from UGC, We are just waiting for favorable condition. We are trying our best to upgrade status of research AJER and bring it in the UGC care list and obtain impact factors.
