About the School

This institution has been named as Minto Circle in order to pay respect to Aligarh Muslim University on one hand and to Mr. Minto, the person who established the modern system of education in India, on the other hand. Minto Circle (English Medium High School) was established at Raj Bagh in Srinagar on 1st day of March 1975.

The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education. The school aims to help students develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes they need to excel not only in their studies but also in their personal growth.

It was set to impart education to the children of growing middle class with the following main aims and objectives:

To provide all round training, to play a notable role wherever they are.
To help the child to understand his/ her own self in the light of knowledge and experience.
To help him/her to understand the nature and its laws.
To draw out what potential the child is blessed with.
In the year 2011 the school was shifted to Allouchi Bagh campus which measures an area of 20 kanals. The mega structure of the school has 52 Rooms (size: 23 feet x18 feet).

The Motto of the school is “KNOW THY SELF”.
“He who knows others is wise; he who knows himself is enlightened.” Self discovery and self awareness is the cornerstone to all the knowledge.The more you know yourself, the more control you will have in your life. As one explores one’s own self, it leads to happiness and helps to release negative feelings. It leads to self love and control. Knowing ones own self helps to understand ones drives and motivations, which allows one to evaluate his/her decisions both in advance and in retrospect.It imbibes the ability to be realistic and empowers to make goals that are attainable and recognize limits and liabilities.
